What is the criteria to qualify to be adoptive parents to an infant (less than 2 years old) ?

Age Limit

1. Up to 42 years old: Standard eligibility
2. 43 – 50 years old:
   Applications may still be considered, subject to:
   • Health screening
   • Financial assessment
   • Management review and approval

If applicants reach the age of 50 without a placement, the application will be considered unsuccessful

Health Status & BMI

1. Recommended BMI range: 18 – 32
2. Outside the recommended range (moderate cases):
   • May be considered with justification and at management’s discretion
   • Additional requirement:

Completion of a basic health screening (urine and blood tests for blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes)

Income Eligibility

1. General guideline: Above RM7,000
2. RM5,000 – RM7,000:
   May be considered based on:
   • Cost of living in the applicant’s residential area
   • Existing financial commitments
   • Assets and savings

Supporting documents:

• Salary slip / proof of income
• 3 months’ bank statements (if no salary slip)
• Information on assets and savings (if applicable)
