The new baby hatch provides a safe alternative for unwanted newborns, preventing abandonment.

Kuantan, Pahang — In February, OrphanCare Foundation, in partnership with KPJ Kuantan Specialist Hospital, has officially launched a new Baby Hatch facility, providing a safe and compassionate option for mothers in crisis to anonymously and legally surrender their newborns – preventing baby abandonment and saving lives.

Since launching Malaysia’s first baby hatch in 2010, OrphanCare has helped save almost 700 babies. This new installation in KPJ Kuantan expands coverage to the East Coast, making the service more accessible to vulnerable communities in Pahang and surrounding areas.

This initiative forms part of OrphanCare’s broader mission to end the institutionalisation of children by providing preventive, family-based solutions that begin even before birth.
