Dato’ Aminah Abdul Rahman

Dato’ Aminah was the Director General of the National Population and Family Development Board, Malaysia from 2007-2012.

She holds a Degree in Social Science (Sociology) from the University Science Pulau Pinang and obtained her Masters in Demography from the Australian National University (ANU) Canberra.

She has served the Board in various capacities namely as Researcher/ Sociologist, as the State Director in Pahang & Selangor, Deputy Director of Administration & Finance and then Director of Corporate Planning.Subsequently she was promoted as the Deputy Director General (Policy) in 2006 and later helmed the Board as the Director General. With her wide experience, she was personally involved in the formulation of the National Family Policy and various educational Modules of the Board, one of which was the Sexual and Reproductive Health Module which is currently being used by various agencies and NGOs.

Since her retirement, Dato Aminah has been actively involved in various NGOs. She is now one of the Trustees of OrphanCare Foundation where she oversees the Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Programme under OrphanCare.
