Can the adoptive parents decline the baby when they are called by OC?

Yes, prospective adoptive parents (PAPs) have the right to decline a baby placement offered by OrphanCare.

However, the decision must be based on reasonable and valid grounds, such as:

Health concers relating to the baby or the PAPs Financial contraints
Other relevant and justifiable reasons

If the decline is made on reasonable grounds, the PAPs will remain on the waiting list.

However, if the rejection is based on reasons such as the baby’s gender or skin colour, the PAPs will be moved down by three (3) positions in the waiting list.

All decisions are subject to assessment by OrphanCare.
