In May, OrphanCare acquired a few sessions of Reproductive Health Talk – this time, outside of Klang Valley. We did our first session in May with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM ) students – online, joined by more than 200 students. After that, we went to Pulau Pinang for a session with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) students, organized by the Social Work Student Club with around 40 students participating in the discussions. Then, another session was held at PPR Paya Nahu 2 in Sungai Petani covering almost 30 youth aged 12 and above.
Later, OrphanCare’s team went to Terengganu to hold a few sessions with about 100 students from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). Following that we also managed to get about 25 childrens whose parents are from the Persatuan Orang Pekak Terengganu (POPT), sharing with them our knowledge and awareness about reproductive health. It is also a bonus for OrphanCare to be a part of another programme in Dungun,Terengganu under UNISZA where they organized a community outreach event – Sentuhan Kasih Jalinan Komuniti 3.0. Our booth attracted the community that was keen to know about us and about the Baby Hatch — which makes OrphanCare have reached more than 100 of its target audience in Terengganu alone.
These sessions aimed to create a safe and open space for young people to learn about their reproductive rights, safe practices, and the importance of informed decision-making. Each session was tailored to the needs of the participants, fostering honest conversations and promoting awareness on critical health topics
