OrphanCare Foundation ended the year on a powerful note with the Movie Charity Premiere of Abah Saya Uncle Mike, brought back to cinemas through our collaboration with Astro Shaw.
This film carries a message that sits at the core of our work. Its themes of love, belonging and the right to grow up in a stable family mirror OrphanCare’s mission to ensure that Every Child Needs a Family. The story reflects the lived realities of many children still growing up in institutions, and the hope we work toward every day — helping them return to safe, permanent family care.
We were deeply honoured by the presence of the real Uncle Mike, whose kindness, resilience and lifelong commitment to protecting children inspired the film’s narrative. He attended the premiere together with his sons and members of the cast, bringing an added depth of authenticity and emotion to the event.
Public support was exceptional. All tickets were sold out, and many attendees shared how profoundly the film touched them. Moments like these show that more Malaysians are ready to understand, discuss and advocate for family-based care.
To everyone who attended, supported and stood with us — thank you. Your belief in this mission strengthens our voice, expands our reach and helps us secure a future where every child grows up with love, security and the warmth of a family.
Together, we continue building a Malaysia where every child has a loving family.
