OrphanCare, together with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), held a Bicara Komuniti session on 2 August 2025 at PPR Lembah Subang 2, attended by 25 participants including 21 children. The programme introduced the concept of Family-Based Care (FBC) and highlighted the importance of raising children in safe, loving family environments rather than institutions. Through knowledge-sharing, interactive discussions, and activities, participants gained a clearer understanding of FBC, adoption procedures, and the role of OrphanCare in supporting family welfare.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with all participants reporting improved knowledge and awareness. Many expressed hopes for every child to grow up with unconditional love, and several offered to volunteer in future programmes. Suggestions included organising sessions more frequently, adding varied activities for children, providing counselling support, and choosing more comfortable venues. The event also identified one potential child protection case, which has been referred to a social worker for assessment. Overall, the programme successfully strengthened community awareness and fostered stronger collaboration to safeguard children’s well-being.
