OrphanCare hosted a roundtable meeting at Berjaya Times Square Hotel to discuss the progress of the Deinstitutionalisation (DI) process and alternative care systems in Malaysia. Chaired by Tan Sri Faizah Tahir, the meeting brought together government representatives, NGOs, and international experts like Lumos. Key discussions highlighted OrphanCare’s achievements, including the reintegration of 82 families and facilitation of 28 adoptions, while addressing challenges such as limited data, lack of public awareness, and resource gaps. Future strategies focused on strengthening policies, public education, and collaboration.
