Application of registration of adopted children in Sabah is made based on the Adoption Ordinance 1960 (Sabah No.23 of 1960), Native Adoption Regulations 1961 and the Sabah Syariah Court Enactment 2004 and the rules of the Sabah Syariah Court (adoption and adoption practices).

Application of adoption in Sarawak is made based on the Adoption Ordinance 1958 (Sarawak CAP.91) and Adoption Ordinance (Amendment) 2002 (Chapter A100) administered under the State Governance through the District Office. An application of adoption can be made at any National Registration Department in Sarawak.

However, we are an NGO that focuses on local adoption as international adoption requires a more stringent documentation and screening process. In the same time, the potential parent(s) has to adhere the adoption laws of both countries if they need to bring the child overseas. We follow the local welfare department law requirements for adopting in Malaysia.
The same laws apply to Malaysian applicants who live overseas.

The processing fee for the adoption application is RM50 (non-refundable). For application done via payment gateway, a total payment of RM52.75 needs to be paid which include the payment gateway charges of RM2.75 as required by the service provider.
