Launch of Malaysia Adoption Day

To raise awareness and promote positive perception about adoption and fostering OrphanCare Foundation launched Malaysia Adoption Day 2016 to highlight the plight of children and orphans in institutions and to advocate their transfer into family care. Malaysia Adoption Day will be held every year on November 11th in conjunction with World Adoption Day held a couple days earlier.
Soft launch of baby hatch in Sungai Petani, Kedah

Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD), a strong advocate for marginalised communities, donated RM1.05 million to be spent over three years starting November 2014. YSD’s funding will help finance outreach activities, community awareness programmes about baby abandonment and reproductive health talks at various locations in and outside the Klang Valley.
OrphanCare Foundation – memorandum of collaboration with KPJ Hospitals

The collaboration between Kumpulan Perubatan Johor (KPJ) and OrphanCare operates hatches. There are now 11 locations where young women and girls can safely leave babies they are not able to care for. KPJ has eight baby hatches and OrphanCare three.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between OrphanCare Foundation and the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) – SEKATA Awareness Programme

OrphanCare Foundation signed a MOU with LPPKN for a RM200,000 funding to organise 20 talks in one year. The SEKATA Programme (Keselamatan keluarga tanggungjawab kita) or Family safety is everyone’s responsibility is part of OrphanCare’s initiative to inculcate awareness about family values and reproductive health amongst young people.
20 talks were conducted in 2014-2015 at selected institutions – 11 Kolej Komuniti and 9 institutions under the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
